Horse: Bullwinkle Bay Quarter Horse Aged 16 (Bully) and Spirit Studbook Palomino Arab- Aged 3
Quantum Savvy Student: Since June 2006

Horsie Background:
I was first introduced to horses when I was 17 at a trail riding centre which did not turn out so well. I have always liked horses but never had the opportunity to be with them until my daughter bought a horse and I decided to have some lessons. After owning a couple of horses that weren’t really suitable for me, I ended up with Bully who did have a few problems but who also showed me that working with horses was a better deal. I bought him from people with a natural background which I hadn’t heard of before. It peaked my curiosity and my understanding of horses and horse phsycology all started from there.

Group - Horse ‘N’ Around PG
Area: Bunbury WA Australia
Group Formed: September 2006
Level: Working on level 1
Horse: Arab x paint called Tasha the Basha (have 11 more including some brand new foals)
Quantum Savvy Student: Since June 2006

Horsie Background:
Was born around horses. Family bred trotters and it just started from there. Loved watching the western films, and always wanted to ride like the Indians. Did showing, one day eventing and western. Now breed coloured welsh/arabs.

Why you started with Quantum Savvy:
I have tried a few other ‘natural’ horsemanship type programmes and instructors and although I enjoyed the idea and the things I learnt I didn’t really feel that I was making the kind of progress I would have liked and although I felt I had some skills I wanted to feel more confident with my horses. I felt I needed a new beginning and a better under- standing of horsemanship. My hubby’s cousin Veronica Clifton (Ronnie)’s pamphlets of horseman- ship and what she was achieving with Quantum Savvy showed me what I needed to hear so I took the plunge and started. I loved it so much I started a Practise Group almost straight away and now I get to practise and share it with my friends too!!!

Group - Meadow Park PG
Area: Houston, Scotland
Group Formed: April 2007
Level: Working on level 1
Horse: Matilda 10yo 3/4 Welsh section D x Thoroughbred
Quantum Savvy Student: Since March 2007

Horsie Background:
I have always loved being round horses. I used to drive my dear departed dad crazy always asking for a pony and how I could keep it in the garage. I have had lessons all through my childhood. I didn’t ride for many years until my daughter “Louise” was bitten by the horse bug. When she was about 10 yrs old I started taking her for lessons with me for about 5 yrs. Again I fell away. My MATILDA came about when my friend got me going to lessons with her again. After 6 lessons I thought, “Mmmm it would be cheaper if I got my own horse then I could ride all week for the same price as a 1 hour lesson. So I ran out and bought Matilda.

Group - Savvy TerritoryPractise Group
Area:Darwin NT Australia
Group Formed: March 2007
Level: Working on level 1
Horse: Breeze, Stockhorse x Brumby
Quantum Savvy Student: Since February 2007

Horsie Background:
I’ve had horses ever since I was about 10 when I was given my first horse Blaze. He was my soul mate as a child and I still miss him to this day! My next horse was an Arab who was too much for me, then another handy little fella who was great but then I discovered teenage life and lost interest for a while. I completed work experience as a Jillaroo on a Station near Walcha, NSW where I met and fell in love with my next horse (another Arab x ). Once I started working a year or two later, I saved up and went back there and bought him. After moving to the NT I sadly left him behind and then came across some pretty crazy station horses, but also some amazing ones – like my current mare Breeze, who is out of a station mare and crossed with a Brumby. She’s not the biggest and best built mare I’ve come across but it’s not her build I’m in love with! Her nature is to die for, she is such a sweetheart!

Level: Working on level 1
Horse: Lewis. Clydie X QH. 5yo Gelding. We've been together 6 months and he will be my last horse, so I plan to make the most of our partnership.
Quantum Savvy Student for: Joined the QS Team in March 2007.

Horsie Background:
I started riding at 40 (I'm now 50) due mainly to a life- long love of horses, the opportunity to move to a coastal/country property and a huge mid life crisis! It all started when a neighbour allowed me to groom her borrowed pony some 45 years ago and when, at 40, I had the opportunity to own my very own horse, I jumped at the chance. As they say “wild horses couldn’t have stopped me!” I have had 5 horses in that time, 3 of which were not suitable mounts for a relative beginner, but I persevered despite the injuries. Along the way I have been involved with the EFA, HRCAV and various horsemanship clinics. I also breed WM Ponies and Alpacas. My main focus has always been dressage - that is until I discovered the QS concept.

Horse: Stormy Knight “Stormy” a Tbred/Warmblood and Navaho my wonderful old paint.
Quantum Savvy Student for: since August 2006

Horsie Background:
I never had much to do with horses during my child- hood. My introduction to horses came when my husband bought me a horse in about 1993; since then I have been hooked. I loved this mare, but at the same time was petrified when I rode. Unfortunately we didn’t have her all that long and we had to have her put down due to a previous unknown injury. It broke my heart, I was so green and she was so knowledgeable. I often think of her, and wish I could just show her how much I know now, and how much she taught me about the love an animal can give you. I also joined an Adult Riding Club where we did pub rides, games days, and rides through country Victoria.

Group Formed: March2007
Level: Working on Level 1
Horse: Dickie – a 13 year old crabbett Arab Gelding.
Quantum Savvy Student for: Since March 2007

Horsie Background:
I have always had horses in my system, although I come from a non-horsey home. I bought my first horse at 17; a Standardbred just out of racing who did not yet canter. I’d had him for 2 years and everything was going so well I got cocky and thought that I needed a ‘wilder’ horse so I traded him for a thoroughbred that was known for rearing and doing his jumping courses in reverse. I spent a lot of time out of the saddle with that horse and learned the power of groundwork and quiet persistence. After succeeding with that ‘spirited’ (in the wrong sense) horse, I decided to start my first horse - a 3yo Arab.Later, I learned to drive pair in the Melbourne CBD; wow that was a baptism by fire – 2 big clydie crosses, a stage coach and China Town with real live passengers. I don’t follow any particular discipline – I ride (pseudo westie on long high country trails) and I drive (cross-country style and commercially).
