Worlds Biggest Play Day!
Reporter: Denise Niit visits the Stickers Practice Group from the Gold Coast of Australia. Looking back a year ago, I was only just looking in to joining Quantum Savvy and was asked to attend the WBPD which was themed a day at the beach. My confidence level at the point was zero so the fear of the unknown held me back from attending and I am sure I missed an absolutely wonderful day. Now one year on and working on level 1 had given me the confidence to attend this years play day with the Stickers Practice Group. This year was themed “A Day at the Races”. The world biggest play day is about getting as many members, basic members, auditors all together on one day to unite in strength and show how Quantum Savvy is growing and just how far all of us have come. I attended the day at the RDA at Arundel that was organised by Belinda Bass the Stickers Group Organizer. On arrival we had a parade of riders and leaders to pick the best dressed and everyone had put in some imagination in to their outfit. Next we had some races with imagination and then we all tried the obstacle course that showed the skills we were all learning through our levels. Some were level 1 and some level 2 but it didn’t matter where you were at with your skills because the enthusiasm and encouragement from the rest of the group helped everyone through the course.

Quantum Savvy Practice Group Interview- Feb 2008 The Lockyers Riders Practise GroupGroup Organiser: Petra Doerfling Location: Hatton Vale Qld Australia Group Formed: July 2006 The Lockyer Riders formed in July 2006 via the Forum. I was living in Canberra at the time, but was to move to the Lockyer Valley, Qld toward the end of the year. I found out there were two QS members in the same area, so we got together via the fantastic Quantum Savvy Forum and formed the Lockyer Riders. We first met when I attended the GO conference at the QSSC in July 2006. Vicki Marr from the Bellarine Brumbies and I drove to Hatton Vale in the Lockyer Valley and met Mel, her family and Zoe. They went out of their way to make us welcome.
Quantum Savvy Practice Group Interview- Jan 2008 The Gungahlin Whisperers Practise GroupGroup Organiser: Dorinda Lillington Location: Canberra ACT Australia Group Formed: September 2005 The Gungahlin Horse Whisperers started when Petra, aka Stubby, was searching for a way to get a better communication with her horse Stubby. She conscripted her neighbour and a few others and the Whisperers had formed. Petra then organized an RFT clinic in Murrumbateman in April 2006. Along with regular Whisperer members, we also had a few new people join in for the weekend to ride and watch. We all wanted to find a way to work safely with our horses and to have fun rather than being worried about the dreaded ‘what ifs’! The RFT clinic opened our eyes to what was possible as we even attempted some level two tasks, even though we were still working on level one.

Quantum Savvy Practice Group Interview- Nov 2007 The Challengers Practise GroupGroup Organiser: Nicole Dean Location: Kilmore, Victoria /Australia Group Formed: March 2007 The Challengers Practise GroupWe are a comparatively young group having registered and started meeting after having attended the amazing RFT Clinic Geelong, run by Shane and Meredith and hosted by the inimitable Vicki Marr, in March of this year. We were so inspired that we pretty much signed up on the spot – and we were ‘just’ auditing. We are located in the Kilmore area, which is 60 km north of Melbourne along the Hume Hwy. It is a densely populated horse area, with 4 pony Clubs and as many Adult Riding Clubs within a 20km radius. It is a racing town, so consequently there are a lot of ex-racehorses (all codes) moving into other disciplines.
Quantum Savvy Practice Group Interview- Oct 2007 The Sundowners Practise GroupGroup Organiser: Rhonda Collins Location: Tamborine, Queensland /Australia Group Formed: May 2007 The Sundowners Practise GroupOur group has only just begun our Quantum Savvy journey. I started the group about May 2007 and we have had regular play days since then. I have found QS to be my saviour. They have given me so much confidence in both myself and my horsemanship abilities. My boy Stormy really is such a great teacher for me. He is so confident, and so pushy, that I have had to step up to the challenge and show him who is the alpha. The reason I started this group, is I thought there must be a lot of people like me, who love their horses and want to spend time, improve their horsemanship and are looking for that natural horsemanship methods. QS is the way and practice groups are a fabulous way to meet like minded people, have fellowship and a love and understanding of our horses.
Quantum Savvy Practice Group Interview- Sep 2007 The Meadow Park Practise GroupGroup Organiser - Anne Fraser Location - Houston, Scotland / UK Group Formed - April 2007 Hi…I’m Annie…Group Organiser for the Meadow Park PG in Houston Scotland (near Glasgow). We started Meadow Park Practise Group at the end of April 2007. The name comes from the yard we are all at. We have an outdoor school where we have our practise. We had a few gatherings in the beginning to get started so people got the idea of the lessons. Now we aim for once a month, usually a Sunday evening. We have an RFT clinic coming up very soon with Shane and Meredith. The clinic is the big event of the year for our yard…. nothing like this has ever happened here before. Everything has happened very quickly, it some- times feels like things are going at 100 mile an hour and it is very exciting. It really does motivate you to get on with things with an event to look forward to.
